When products live in boxes, drawers and display trays, “I think I packed enough” is easy to say and hard to check. A small inventory routine makes event stock visible without pretending demand is predictable.

Before the event: make the list

  1. Choose the event and note its date, venue and setup constraints.
  2. List each sellable product once, with a recognisable name or SKU and category.
  3. Decide the quantity to bring and a realistic quantity you expect might sell. Use your own previous records when available, not a universal rule.
  4. Check display, packaging, signage, payment arrangements and any non-sale equipment separately from sellable stock.
  5. Record event expenses and keep unit product costs separate so you do not count the same cost twice.

Use the checkboxes during your own preparation. This browser page does not save checklist changes.

At the stall: update the plan, do not overwrite it

Keep a distinction between the amount you planned, the amount you brought and the amount sold. If you add stock during the event, record the addition. At the end, count what is saleable, what is damaged or missing, and what was returned. A plan should remain a record of the assumption you made before the day.

Illustrative scenario: A maker packs two boxes of prints and one box of small pottery pieces. The list is grouped by category; after a rainy afternoon, the seller can still record what returned rather than relying on a hurried memory at midnight. This describes a workflow, not a customer testimonial.

How a planner can help

FairProfit Desktop links planned event products to a category-grouped packing checklist and stock reconciliation. It does not forecast customer demand, scan barcodes or manage online listings. Keep a backup of the local database before moving business data between devices.
